Nepal Airlines Plane Grounded in Humla

Humla,- A Nepal Airlines plane, scheduled to fly from Simikot Airport to Nepalgunj on Monday, faced a setback after one of its engines failed in Humla. The aircraft, stationed in Humla, encountered issues following the engine malfunction. A specialized technical team has been deployed for the maintenance of the aircraft, with both batteries of the plane's two engines reported to be down.

In an effort to address the maintenance needs, three technical experts, led by engineer Devendra Pun from Summit Air, arrived in Simikot by Summit Air's aircraft. On Monday, they conducted repairs, focusing on the wire that caused the technical glitch. Following the maintenance, passengers bound for Nepalgunj were boarded onto the plane. However, the engine failed to start, prompting a thorough inspection that revealed a battery failure, as reported by Baliraj Hamal, the head of Nepal Airlines' Simikot branch.

The technical team attributed the battery failure to issues arising from the downcharging of batteries during ground maintenance. To resolve the problem, ground chargers are required to recharge the batteries. Until the ground charging equipment arrives in Simikot, the aircraft will remain grounded in Simikot, according to Hamal. This incident follows a similar technical problem experienced by a Nine En-ABU Kalasain aircraft, where ground charging issues necessitated battery charging before the plane could proceed to its destination.
