Motihari, India – Baragadhi Rural Municipality Chairperson Ashok Kumar Jaiswal rushed to Motihari, India, to meet Nepali pilgrims injured in a tragic bus accident on their way to offer holy water at Deoghar, Jharkhand.
The bus, carrying devotees from Baragadhi, met with an
accident in Samastipur, Bihar, on Sunday morning, leaving more than 35 people
injured. Upon hearing the news, Chairperson Jaiswal immediately traveled to
Motihari to assess the condition of the injured. He visited three critically
injured individuals—Rajeshwar Sah, Subhash Sah, and Phekal Mukhiya—who are
currently receiving treatment under Dr. Rakesh Kumar in Motihari.
Demonstrating deep concern, Jaiswal ensured proper
food and care for the injured and their attendants at the hospital. He was
accompanied by Dayashankar Ray, Kabindra Chaudhary, and journalist Maheshwar
Adhikari.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made for the safe
return of 35 other pilgrims who sustained minor injuries. They have already
boarded a bus from Samastipur and are expected to reach Nepal by 11 PM tonight.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow over the
pilgrimage, but the swift response from local authorities and community leaders
has provided much-needed support to the victims.
