Kalaiya Gears Up for Ring Road, Promising Smoother Rides and Brighter Futures

Kalaiya, Bara: Excitement is brewing in Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City as the ambitious project of constructing a ring road moves forward. Spearheaded by Mayor Binod Sah, the envisioned 26-foot wide road will gracefully trace the edge of the Khauahi River, weaving a new path for progress and connectivity.

Kalaiya Gears Up for Ring Road,

Mayor Sah shared his vision, outlining the initial phase of the ring road, stretching from the District Ayurveda Office in Bhawanipur, Ward No. 3, through Sansarimai, the District Postal Office, Ramraja Campus, and finally connecting to Barewa Road. His voice resonated with optimism as he articulated the multifaceted benefits this infrastructure marvel will bring to Kalaiya.

"Imagine a Kalaiya with less traffic snarls," Mayor Sah mused, painting a picture of longer-distance vehicles effortlessly navigating the city's periphery, leaving the inner roads free and safer. He emphasized the anticipated reduction in traffic accidents, a welcome relief for all commuters.

Beyond easing congestion, the Mayor highlighted the economic ripple effects. "This ring road will be a catalyst for growth," he explained, envisioning new commercial hubs, bustling markets, and thriving businesses springing up along its edges. The relocation of industries and warehouses to the outer areas will further alleviate traffic pressure within the city. Moreover, the anticipated surge in land value promises economic benefits for local residents.

The ring road is also envisioned as a key to unlocking a more organized and sustainable urban landscape. Mayor Sah spoke of its potential to facilitate the development of new settlements in the outer areas, reducing inner-city crowding and fostering a more balanced living environment. He also pointed out the environmental advantages, with improved traffic flow leading to reduced dust and air pollution, paving the way for well-managed green spaces and a more aesthetically pleasing city.

Tourism, too, stands to gain, with easier access to attractions from the outer areas. "This isn't just about roads; it's about enhancing the overall economic, social, and environmental fabric of our sub-metropolitan city," Mayor Sah affirmed, expressing his strong belief in the transformative power of this project if executed with meticulous planning and effective implementation.

In a nostalgic nod to the past, Mayor Sah recalled a similar initiative by the then Chief Administrative Officer, Nathu Sah, during a period without elected representatives. While that vision couldn't materialize due to public pressure at the time, Mayor Sah emphasized that fulfilling this long-held aspiration of Nathu Sah, now a public demand, is a priority.

To ensure the smooth progress of this significant undertaking, a dedicated Ring Road Construction Committee has been formed, led by Kishun Yadav, the Ward Chairman of Ward No. 5. The committee also includes the Ward Chairpersons of Wards No. 1, 3, and 8, signifying a collaborative effort across different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, Anil Pandey, the Chief of the Environment Section at Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, addressed the sensitive issue of encroachments along the Khauahi River. He stated that prior notices have been issued for the removal of illegally constructed houses, sheds, and other structures to pave the way for the ring road.

On the ground, a dedicated team led by Engineer Madhav Yadav, accompanied by two surveyors, has been diligently working at the construction site, ensuring meticulous execution of the project.

The ring road project in Kalaiya is more than just laying asphalt; it's about weaving a brighter future for its residents, promising smoother journeys, economic opportunities, and a more sustainable and organized city for generations to come. The collaborative spirit and the dedication of the local authorities signal a promising start to this transformative endeavor.
