The Supreme Court (SC) is entering the automation the world as of August 28. To address problems within the judicial system, the incoming Chief Justice, Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha, seeks to implement this method.
Chief Justice Shrestha
stressed his commitment to using information technology (IT) and artificial
intelligence (AI) to decrease anomalies in the court during a meeting with
journalists from the Constitutional and Judicial Journalist Forum. He wants to
address issues with how the court runs its business and increase transparency.
The reduction of
outside interference in the appointment of hearing dates is one of the key
motivations for putting in place this automation system. The Chief Justice
wants to speed up this part of judicial procedures and guarantee impartiality
by relying on technology.
After being introduced
in the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Shrestha has further plans to bring this
automated technology to the Kathmandu District Court. He gave assurances that
any issues with judicial anomalies would be thoroughly looked into by the
Judicial Council.
Chief Justice Shrestha
has already started the process of selecting new judges in order to address the
lack of justices and the heavy caseload the court is currently dealing with. He
is confident that these actions would produce positive outcomes and enhance the
court system's overall performance.
