Nijgadh: Nijgadh Municipality Ward No. 10 has inaugurated its new office building in a grand ceremony. The Mayor of Nijgadh Municipality, Sureth Puri, officially opened the building by unveiling a banner and watering a litchi plant planted in the office premises.
While inaugurating the building, Mayor Puri emphasized the significant progress made in the country's development since the establishment of the republic. He highlighted the importance of a democratic republican system for the welfare of Nepal and its people. He further expressed his belief that the new ward office building would facilitate the smooth delivery of services to the local residents.
Addressing the gathering, Ward No. 10 Chairman Ashakaji Shrestha expressed confidence that the new building would enhance the efficiency of the services provided by the ward office. He also requested the municipality to consider adding more floors and rooms to the building in the future.
The program, chaired by Ward Chairman Shrestha, was attended by Deputy Mayor Soma Maya Thing, Chief Administrative Officer Ajay Bartaula, Ward No. 12 Chairman Gyan Bahadur Gole, Ward No. 6 Chairman Ghanshyam Timalsina, and other dignitaries.
Ward No. 7 Chairman Tek Bahadur Lama and Ward No. 3 Chairman Gokul Timalsina were also present at the event. Mayor Puri honored local residents Lok Bahadur Karki and Punmaya Shrestha, the land donors, with a shawl and a certificate of appreciation.
The building, constructed on a 2-kattha plot with the support of Nijgadh Municipality, cost approximately 3.7 million rupees. Karki and Shrestha had generously donated one kattha of land each, valued at around 50 million rupees, for the construction of the ward office.
The newly constructed building features a hall and four rooms. The program, coordinated by Ward Office Secretary Bhagwati Rimal, was welcomed by Ward Member Kumar Moktan. With the completion of this building, the ward office will now operate from its own premises, ending its reliance on rented spaces.
