committee formation was officiated by Hemlal Shrestha, chief of the District Sports
Development committee .
The NSSF's vision aligns with international standards set by the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and the Asian School Sports Federation (ASSF).
Objectives of the Nepal School Sports Federation:
- International Participation: The federation will facilitate the participation of
Nepali students in prestigious international events like the ISF
Gymnasiade and World School Championships, providing opportunities for
young athletes to showcase their skills on the global stage.
- Specialized Programs:
The NSSF will launch initiatives such as "She Runs" to empower
young girls through sports and academic programs like the Young Reporter
Programme to develop media literacy and sports journalism skills.
- Sports Expansion:
The federation will work to introduce and popularize ISF-recognized sports
in schools across Nepal, organizing competitions at various levels and
providing training to players and coaches.
- Technical Expertise:
The NSSF will invest in training skilled professionals to support
school-level sports leagues and events, ensuring high-quality coaching and
technical guidance.
- Global Recognition:
Through active participation in international competitions and
collaborations with global sports organizations, the NSSF aims to enhance
Nepal's reputation as a sporting nation.
By implementing these initiatives, the NSSF is committed to fostering a strong foundation for sports in Nepal, nurturing future athletes, and contributing to the overall development of the nation's youth.
