Nijgadh, A campaign to vaccinate adolescent girls against cervical cancer using the HPV vaccine has been launched in Nijgadh. The three-day drive, scheduled from Magh 23 to 25, aims to immunize girls studying in grades 6 to 10 at their respective schools.
According to the Nijgadh Health Office, girls between the ages of 10 and 14 who are not enrolled in school will be vaccinated at nearby schools. Those who have missed out will be able to receive the vaccine at the nearest health facility.
The health office has
urged parents and guardians to send their daughters to their respective schools
or health facilities during the campaign period to get the HPV vaccine.
In preparation for the campaign, an orientation program was conducted for healthcare workers at the Nijgadh Municipality Hall. The session, held in the Nijgadh Municipality meeting hall, was addressed by Deputy Mayor Sommaya Thing, who emphasised the importance of the initiative in protecting the health of young girls.
