Nijgadh, Bara — With the aim of promoting women entrepreneurship, Nijgadh Municipality has launched a 45-day barista (coffee maker) training programme. The training was inaugurated on Wednesday under the Deputy Mayor’s Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Mayor Sommaya Thing stated that the training has been designed in line with market demand and changing times. “Barista training is timely and has the potential to generate employment,” she said. “Despite being involved in business, many women are still confined to the role of homemakers due to a lack of skills. and work in hotels and restaurants.
The municipality has given priority to local women for participation in the programme. Upon completion, participants will receive official certificates.
Municipal officials
have expressed plans to expand such skill-based training programmes in the
future.
