Bara – A special camp for persons with disabilities was successfully conducted on Saturday in Nijgadh Municipality, in collaboration with Prerana Physical Rehabilitation Centre, Lalbandi, Sarlahi. The camp focused on physical assessment and measuring for assistive devices for differently-abled individuals.
The programme saw the presence of several key officials including Mayor Surath Puri, Deputy Mayor Sommaya Thing, Chief Administrative Officer Rajendra Bahadur Aryal, Police Inspector Jeevan Lamichhane, and representatives from the Disability ID Coordination Committee—Babita Shrestha and Bikramraj Lama. Also present were Medical Officer Dr. Bikash Lama, Health Division Chief Ramesh Lama, Women, Children and Senior Citizens Division Chief Rozi Shrestha, along with other municipal staff.According to the municipality, the camp aimed to assess the condition of individuals with disabilities and take necessary measurements for providing assistive devices in the near future. Preparations for distributing the required equipment are already underway.
Nijgadh Municipality expressed hope that such initiatives would help ease the daily lives of persons with disabilities and ensure greater inclusion in society.
