Nijgadh, Bara – A free health and rehabilitation camp for children with physical disabilities will be held on Asar 14 (June 29, 2025) at the Nijgadh Primary Health Center, located in Nijgadh Ward 9. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Disabled Friendly Group, HRDC Banepa (Children's Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Center) from Kavre, and Nijgadh Municipality.
The camp will focus on identifying, assessing, and providing rehabilitation services for children up to 18 years of age who have various physical disabilities.
According to Rojy Shrestha, Assistant Women Development Inspector at the Nijgadh Municipality Women and Children's Section, the camp will specifically address several conditions. These include congenital clubfoot, fused limbs due to burns, improperly healed or crooked fractures, unjoined bones, and weakened or paralyzed legs.
Shrestha further added that services will also be available for children with spinal deformities (such as scoliosis or kyphosis), dislocated joints or kneecaps, chronic joint pain and swelling, bone infections with pus discharge, bone tuberculosis, fused or extra fingers, and those requiring assistive devices or artificial limbs due to crooked or dislocated joints in various parts of the body.
This camp aims to provide crucial support and care to children with physical disabilities in the region, helping them access necessary identification, health services, and rehabilitation.
