Nijgadh, Bara – A four-day legal capacity-building program aimed at empowering Dalit women has begun at Bhaktalal Cottage in Bhaktalal, Nijgadh Municipality-13.
Ward Chairman of Ward No. 13, Surya Ghalaan, inaugurated the event. During his opening remarks, Chairman Ghalaan highlighted that women, especially those from the Dalit community, often miss out on their rights due to a lack of legal knowledge. He expressed hope that such programs would help raise awareness about their rights and entitlements.
Umesh Ghalaan chaired the program, while Maheshwar Adhikari moderated the event. Organizers noted the active participation of Dalit women in the program.
The training will cover a range of topics, including legal literacy, legal procedures against gender-based violence and discrimination, and access to and utilization of rights at the local level. Naresh Chaudhary is slated to be the trainer for these sessions.
