Bara: Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City has invited suggestions and opinions from local residents for the construction of a waste processing centre, as solid waste management continues to be one of the municipality’s major challenges.
Issuing a public notice, the sub-metropolitan city
stated that public participation is
essential to identify a suitable location for the facility. The
municipality believes that involving residents will help address concerns and
ensure a long-term, sustainable solution to waste management.
The process of collecting opinions began after the Ministry of Urban Development of the
Government of Nepal, through a letter dated Ashoj 2, 2082, requested the municipality to recommend a
suitable government-owned or barren
(unused) land for the project. The ministry has asked for a detailed
proposal, including land details, to be submitted by Ashoj 23, 2082.
In response, Jeetpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City has
requested residents to send details and suggestions of potential locations within the municipality by Ashoj 18, 2082,
either through email or WhatsApp.
The municipality said it is moving forward with the
goal of building a clean and sustainable
city by resolving existing obstacles in selecting a site for the waste
processing centre.
The public notice, issued
with the signature of Mayor Rajan Paudel,
urges all sections of the community and all levels of the municipality to take
part actively in this important initiative.
