Bara — Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City has issued a written warning to seven contractor companies for failing to begin construction work as per their agreements. The municipality has directed them to submit a revised work schedule within seven days and start the work accordingly.
If they fail to comply within the given deadline, the
city has warned that strict legal actions will be taken under the Public
Procurement Act and Regulations — including fines and confiscation of deposits.
According to Engineer Abhaykant Jha, Chief of the
Infrastructure Development Section, the municipality proceeded with legal
measures after repeated reminders and instructions were ignored by the
contractors, who failed to make progress within the agreed time frame.
Which Companies Failed to Start Work?
As per the information released by the municipality:
- N.K.
Construction Pvt. Ltd. (Parsa) — Failed to show progress in the construction of Fakira
Giri Rajeshwar Giri Secondary School building at Ward No. 7.
- D & D
Construction (Bara) — Did not begin the construction of the culvert
connecting Wards No. 5 and 7.
- Dhiraj
Nirman Sewa (Rautahat) — Failed to start blacktopping work on the Baluwa–Behara
Road at Ward No. 10.
- Shree
Bajrang Construction (Bara) — Delayed wall construction work at Ward No. 24.
- Jasauli
Nirman Sewa (Parsa) — Suspended road track opening and pavement work at
Inarwasira, Ward No. 19.
- Makwanpur
Construction Pvt. Ltd. — Did not start the blacktopping work on the road
leading to Bajni Ward Office at Ward No. 3.
- Jai
Shambhu Bholenath Construction (Makwanpur) — Found to be negligent in
blacktopping work on the road to Chakari at Ward No. 22.
“No Excuse for Delays in Public
Development Projects,” Says Mayor Poudel
Mayor Rajan Poudel warned that negligence and
delays in development projects funded by taxpayers’ money will not be
tolerated.
He stated, “Contractor companies that sign agreements but fail to start work
are obstructing the city’s development. Such companies will no longer be given
any leniency.”
The municipality has further announced that it will
continue to make public the names of contractors delaying development works and
will take necessary legal action against them in the coming days.
