In a press conference held on Thursday, Mayor Pathak expressed his deep regret over the incident and strongly urged authorities to take action against Ward President Kalwar. The mayor revealed that the executive committee's meeting, scheduled for 8 am on Wednesday, was delayed by an hour and a half due to the vandalism.

Mayor Pathak, citing surveillance footage, claimed that the CCTV cameras were intentionally destroyed by Ward President Kalwar and his associates at 2 pm, during the executive committee meeting. In response to this vandalism, Mayor Pathak announced that a written complaint would be submitted to the local police and administration, requesting action against the perpetrators by the Civil Code.

During the press conference, Mayor Pathak highlighted the motive behind the CCTV camera vandalism, stating that it was an attempt to create a meeting environment free from surveillance and oversight. It was noted that Ward President Kalwar had been elected independently.

The press conference was attended by various officials, including Deputy Mayor Pooja Chaudhary, other ward presidents Raj Kapoor Khawas and Birendra Mahato, and executive committee members Sita Devi Lama, Savita Giri, Mohanlal Mahato, Dil Bahadur Bhujel, and others. The incident has raised concerns about the need for accountability and responsible behavior among elected officials within the municipality.
