NRN editors Holly
Petre, Sam Oches, Leigh Anne Zinsmeister, and Alicia Kelso carried on their
conversation about earnings season on the Extra Serving podcast this week.
Traffic continues to be
a major driver of earnings season, and this week CAVA defied all expectations
by reporting growth in traffic of 7.8% without sacrificing profitability.
Nevertheless, even
after several years since its stock market debut, Sweetgreen has not turned a
profit.
For certain brands,
name recognition is the most important factor. El Pollo Loco is attempting to
reclaim its position as a national brand, while Dutch Bros hopes to become a
household name by tripling its number of units over the next several years.
The editors of NRN also
discussed RBI, Noodles & Company, Bloomin' Brands, The Cheesecake Factory,
and Shake Shack. Stay tuned, as Alicia Kelso puts it.
Beto Guajardo, CEO of Blaze Pizza, is the guest this week.
