Bara, Nijgadh: The 18th anniversary and campus assembly of Gaurishankar Campus in Nijgadh-9 were inaugurated on Tuesday with a formal ceremony. Federal Member of Parliament for Bara Constituency No. 1, Achyut Mainali, and Madhesh Provincial Assembly Member, Mina Lama, jointly inaugurated the event by watering plants.
The assembly featured speeches from key figures, including Federal MP Mainali, Provincial MP Lama, Nijgadh Municipality Mayor Surath Puri, Deputy Mayor Sommaya Thing, former Nijgadh Mayor Suresh Khanal, and former Deputy Mayor Lila Devi Lamichhane Khanal.
Other notable participants included Sudarshan Koirala, Chair of Nijgadh Water Supply and Sanitation Committee; Beni Bahadur Moktan, Advisor to the Campus Management Committee; Kedar Kharel, President of the Student Society; Nawaraj Timalsina, Municipal President of the Nepali Congress; Santosh Dangal of the Maoist Centre; Khadga Prasad Upreti of Rastriya Prajatantra Party; Mojahar Mansur of the Janamat Party; and Bhimsen Sapkota of the Unified Socialist Party. Student representative Kisan Khadka also addressed the gathering.
Reports and Activities
Campus Chief Tikaram Bhattarai presented a detailed report on the campus's educational activities, while Accountant Dipak Shrestha shared the financial report. The event, chaired by Campus Management Committee President Ek Bahadur Shrestha, was facilitated by teacher Sagar Dahal.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, students performed songs, dances, and various entertainment programmes, showcasing their talents and bringing joy to attendees.
