Nijgadh,Bara: An interaction workshop focused on the importance and current challenges of Chure conservation was successfully held in Bara district on Asar 13, 2081 (June 27, 2024) at Hotel Rajmarg, Nijgadh. The event aimed to raise public awareness about the urgent need to protect the fragile Chure region.
Organized by the Division Forest Office, Bara-Simara, the program featured in-depth discussions on environmental protection, promotion of greenery, control of deforestation, the role of community forests, and the participation of local governments.
The session was chaired by Bimal Thakur, the 8th Officer of the Division Forest Office, while Ramji Bajagai, President of FECOFUN Bara, served as the chief guest. The event saw active participation from forest staff including Barsha Lama, community forest representatives, and local environmental enthusiasts.
Participants expressed concern over unchecked exploitation of forest areas, illegal logging, and destruction of green zones in the name of development projects. They stressed the need for coordinated efforts at all levels to address these issues.
Speakers emphasized that "protecting forests is protecting human existence" and called on local authorities to develop long-term plans for sustainable conservation. The program conveyed the message that environmental protection is a collective responsibility and reaffirmed a commitment to increasing public participation in forest conservation.
Additionally, Ranger Sanjay Chaudhary from the Dumbarwana Sub-Division Forest Office gave a presentation on forest and Chure conservation through a project-based approach. The program was effectively moderated by Ranger Niraj Pokhrel from the Nijgadh Sub-Division Forest Office.
