Nijgadh, Bara - A "Harpic and Phenyl Production Training" program successfully concluded in Avtar Tole, Ward No. 7 of Nijgadh Municipality, Bara, aiming to foster self-reliance and skill development among individuals with disabilities.
The three-day training, held from June 25 to June 27, 2025 (Ashar 11-13, 2082 BS), was organized under the slogan, "Let the suppressed voices be heard, let the rights of people with disabilities not be violated." Participants learned to produce household cleaning materials like Harpic and Phenyl.
The program was spearheaded by "Empowering Youth for Enriched Society (EYES), Birgunj" with financial support from Nijgadh Municipality. Over the three days, participants received comprehensive knowledge on the raw materials, production processes, and sales and distribution strategies for these cleaning products.
Representatives from EYES expressed confidence that the training would significantly boost the self-confidence and economic independence of individuals with disabilities. They believe that such vocational skill-based programs, supported by local governments, play a crucial role in improving the living standards of this community.
The closing ceremony saw remarks on skill development from key guests, including Tek Bahadur Lama, Ward Chairperson of Nijgadh Municipality Ward No. 7, along with Raviraj Dangal, Madhesh Province Member and Nijgadh Municipal In-charge of CPN (Maoist Centre), and Maheshwar Adhikari. Rosy Shrestha, an official from Nijgadh Municipality, stated that the municipality will continue to support similar empowerment programs for individuals with disabilities in the future.
