Ningadh,Bara – A new project aimed at uplifting the livelihoods of small farmers and enhancing dairy production has been launched in collaboration between United Mission to Nepal (UMN) and Bagdev Dairy. The initiative is being implemented under the leadership of Nijgadh Municipality, with active involvement from Mayor Surath Puri.
The project was officially introduced during a discussion program focused on improving the milk production and distribution system and empowering farmers. The event saw participation from key stakeholders, including Mayor Surath Puri, UMN’s Livelihoods Sector Lead Melson Shrestha, Finance Manager Arun Belbase, Ward No. 5 Chairperson Surya Bahadur Thapamagar, Chairperson of Bara District Milk Cooperative Union Purushottam Bhattarai, and representatives from various cooperative organizations.
During the discussion, speakers exchanged ideas on long-term strategies for developing the dairy sector, increasing smallholder farmer participation, expanding market access, integrating technology, and strengthening partnerships.
United Mission to Nepal and Bagdev Dairy expressed gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the project more effectively in the coming days.
