Bara — Adarsh Kotwal Rural Municipality has urged the protesting group to come forward for talks to resolve the ongoing dispute. Chairperson Jawahar Prasad Sah made the appeal through an official press statement issued on Thursday.
In the statement, Chairperson Sah said his attention had been drawn to the recent protest and office lockdown carried out by some youths over the issue of streetlight installation in the municipality. “While I was in Kathmandu for medical treatment, some youths locked the office and created an unfortunate situation, which I have taken very seriously,” the statement read.
He reminded the
public that the rural municipality office exists solely for the development
and welfare of the people, and that disrupting or damaging its work
ultimately harms the very citizens it serves.
Regarding the
incident of arson that took place during the unrest, Sah assured that those
involved would be brought under legal action without exception.
To find a peaceful
and constructive solution, Sah invited the protesting group to participate in a
dialogue meeting scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today (Kartik 21) at
the municipality office. He requested the protest leaders to send a team of up
to five representatives for the talks.
