Bara: Social worker and businessman Manoj Bharti chose to celebrate his birthday in a meaningful way by dedicating the day to community service in Nijgadh–13 on Friday. Instead of a personal celebration, he organised a series of activities focused on education, youth development, and religious infrastructure, earning widespread appreciation from local residents.
As part of the programme, educational materials were distributed to underprivileged students of Shree Bhagwati Basic School and Shree Shivshakteshwar Basic School. Parents and school representatives said the support would greatly help children who have been struggling to continue their studies due to financial hardship.
Focusing on youth empowerment, Bharti also distributed football jerseys to all youth clubs
from Ward 1 to Ward 13 of Nijgadh Municipality. Speaking at the
programme, Bharti said he believes sports play a vital role in shaping
disciplined, energetic, and united youth.
“I am always ready to support any effort that guides
young people towards a positive path. Sports teach discipline, energy, and
unity. Rather than making birthdays extravagant, my goal is to make them useful
for society,” Bharti said.
The main
highlight of the day was the inauguration
of the welcome entrance gate of Shakti Temple. The gate was
constructed with financial support from Bharti’s parents, Ram Bahadur Bharti and Savitri Bharti.
Locals said the newly built entrance has significantly enhanced the beauty and
dignity of the temple premises.
The programme was held under the chairmanship of Ward Chairperson Surya Ghalan of Nijgadh–13 and was attended by members of the Bharti family, including Binod Bharti, parents Savitri Bharti and Ram Bahadur Bharti, along with local residents and social activists.
Ward Chairperson Ghalan praised the family’s
continuous contribution, saying,
“The support provided by the Bharti family—from youth
and schools to religious structures—is truly commendable. This shows that
private initiatives can also bring positive change in the community.”
Social workers Savitri
Bharti, Binod Bharti, and Khadga Prasad Upreti, among others, also
shared their views at the programme, noting that the Bharti family’s active
involvement has strengthened a culture of cooperation, harmony, and community development in the
area.
Locals described the birthday celebration as an inspiring example of how personal milestones can be transformed into opportunities to give back to society.
