Bara — Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City is gearing up to host a city-level inter-school cricket tournament from Mangsir 17 to 22 (December 2–7). The event aims to bring young students together through the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
The tournament is being organised in collaboration
with Jankalyan School and Nayabasti Youth Club, and details were
shared during a press meet. A total of 16
schools will take part — 12 from
the secondary level and 4 from the
basic level, marking a strong and diverse participation of young
athletes.
With a budget of Rs.
150,000, the tournament will be held at the Nayabasti playground, located in Ward No. 15, Bhawanipur.
Organisers believe that the event will not only help students showcase their
talent but also nurture their interest in sports and inspire a culture of
healthy competition.
“We expect the tournament to make a positive
contribution to sports development across the municipality,” the organising
team shared, adding that all necessary preparations have already been completed.
They also expressed confidence that the support from local authorities,
schools, and sports communities will help ensure the event’s success.
During the press conference, Raju Adhikari, Principal of Janata Secondary School,
along with other speakers, extended best wishes to all participating schools
and players.
The press meet was chaired by Harikrishna Keshi, Chairperson of the Jankalyan Basic
School Management Committee.
The programme was conducted by Gokul
Kunwar, Principal of Jankalyan School, while teacher Uma Bhattarai delivered the welcome remarks.
School principals, representatives, and officials from
various clubs were also present, showing strong community support for the
upcoming tournament.
