Nijgadh, Bara — Shree Sarbajanik Secondary School, located in Nijgadh–5, Bagdev, Bara, celebrated its 61st Anniversary and Parents’ Day with a series of educational, cultural, and social programmes.
The
Parents’ Day programme, chaired by School Management Committee
Chairperson Durga Prasad Gautam, included a welcome speech by committee
member Tara Devi Khadka and was jointly conducted by Bhola Prasad
Chaulagain, Balkumari Sinjali, and Rachana Sharma.
Honours and Awards
As
part of the celebration, 10 active parents were honoured for their
contribution to the school. Similarly, three teachers — Rachana Sharma,
Suryakumar Chaudhary, and Satish Kumar Karn — received Best Teacher Awards,
while former teacher Prakash Adhikari was given a farewell honour. Former
student Jivan Gautam, currently the Planning Section Chief of Nijgadh
Municipality, was also honoured.
Winners
of sports and various extracurricular activities were awarded medals and
prizes. Teachers also presented a group dance, which was warmly
appreciated by the audience.
New Endowment Funds Announced
On
the occasion, the school announced the establishment of two new endowment
funds. Principal Hastabahadur Lama declared the Lal Bahadur Bal and
Maiya Devi Memorial Endowment Fund worth Rs 303,333, and handed over
the cheque to the School Management Committee chairperson.
Another endowment, the Jivanath–Bhimkumari Memorial Fund, worth Rs
101,111, was announced by Dhruv Ghimire and Ram Kumar Ghimire.
Outstanding
students from the 2081 SEE examination were awarded scholarships by
various trusts and endowment funds. Students with excellent academic
performance, disciplined behaviour, cleanliness, and from economically
disadvantaged backgrounds received cash prizes, certificates, and learning
materials. In total, dozens of students from nursery to Grade 12 were recognised
for their achievements.
Educational Development Fund Launched
The
school also announced the establishment of a Public Broad Educational
Development Fund to support quality education. The fund will accept
contributions from different categories of donors, including patron members,
honorary members, life members, and general members, with clearly defined
contribution amounts.
Organisers
expressed gratitude to all guests, donors, parents, teachers, students, and
supporters for making the programme a grand success, reaffirming the school’s
commitment to quality education and community partnership.
