Krishna Yadav, the
Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development in Madhes, has revealed that
the construction process of the Ram Janaki International Stadium will start
soon. Addressing the second convention of the Madhes Pradesh Cricket Association
in Kalaiya, Minister Yadav attributed the delay in the stadium's construction
to internal issues within the state government. Nevertheless, he expressed
confidence that the stadium construction would gain momentum in the near
future.
Minister Yadav stated,
"The state government has already allocated funds for the stadium
construction, but some administrative issues have caused delays. We are
addressing these concerns, and progress is being made. Respected Chief Minister
health issues had temporarily halted the
work, but we are moving forward."
He also mentioned that
consultations with consultants for the stadium construction had taken place,
and land acquisition and necessary funds were secured. "We have the land,
we have the money; we just need to execute the project," Minister Yadav
said.
It's worth noting that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged 1 billion Nepalese Rupees for the construction of the Gopal Dharmashala in Janakpur in 2075 BS (2018 AD). This amount has been diverted for the construction of the Ram Janaki International Stadium. Additionally, the state government has allocated additional funds to ensure the successful completion of the stadium.
Minister Yadav also
mentioned that plans have been made to host national and international sporting
events at the stadium, promoting sports competitions and athlete development in
Madhes Pradesh. He highlighted the cooperation of various stakeholders in
making the stadium construction a reality.
